Harley Video

I'm going to see if I can get this to work. This is video of Harley and a killer balloon.

Kati's purple hair

Well, we decided while Kati was home for the weekend to dye her hair. She now has fuschia colored hair!! She loves it. I have such colorful children.

Bryan took her back to her dad's last night. She has 1 more week with him before she comes home for good. Bryan took her home on the motorcycle. Imagine her dad's look when she pulls up on the back of a motorcycle, pulls off her helmet to reveal a pink camoflauge do-rag (which is mine thank you very much!) - and then pulls that off to reveal her fuschia hair!! I'm sure he was just thrilled.

Oh, and on Bryan's way home he was witness to the slow speed police chase that went through our area last night. He was getting onto Hwy20 at Matlock in Arlington. He saw all of the people on the overpass and embankment going down to the road. Since he was on our motorcycle, with no radio - he didn't know what was happening. He just thought maybe it was a parade of some sort. Then, after getting onto the highway - he saw the 18 wheeler coming towards him, being followed by multiple cop cars and the 2 Armored Personnel Carriers. Since this was Arlington - he wasn't too surprised to see this kind of thing. He didn't realize until he got home and saw that Tayler and I were watching it on tv - what he had actually witnessed.

Harley's 1st bath

We had to give Harley his first bath this past weekend. He went out to the birthday party with us, and rolled all around in the dirt and grass. Bryan and the girls gave him a bath in our kitchen sink. He was pretty good, but wasn't real impressed with the whole bathing process. We are working on him though, we don't want him to be the dog that gets kicked out the groomers because they can't bathe him!!

Kaylin's 6th Birthday party

Well, another birthday party is over. This year it was at Sandy Lake Park, which is where Kaylin wanted it. Her mother decided to let it be a surprise, so that was fun. We lucked out with the weather. All last week it had been over 100, and several days we saw at least 105 temperatures. But, on Saturday we had a good ole Texas Cold Front - and it was only about 98 degrees. But, our party area had lots of good shade trees, so that helped!!

All in all it was a great day. I will post some pictures.

Our newest family member....

Meet Harley. He is the newest member of our crazy household. He is a miniature schnauzer. He was born on Mother's Day, so as of this past weekend that makes him 9 weeks old.

He needs his own blog - he is hilarious!! He is a great puppy though, and fits right into our home.

Never leave a girl alone with a camera....

For those of you who have heard about our vacation - you know that we spent an entire day on our own boat snorkeling off the coast of Florida. Those of you who know Kati well know that she would not get in the water. You can also imagine the litany of questions that we got when she was asked to get in the water - "Are there sharks in this water?", "Are there fish in this water?", "Do my feet have to touch the bottom?"....you get the idea. Anyway, she did finally get in the water, but held onto the boogie board, so her feet didn't have to touch the bottom. And she did scream when she looked down in the water and realized there were hundreds of fish swimming around her. Doesn't matter that they weren't even touching her - or that she didn't know they were there until she looked under water- they were there nonetheless.

Anyway.....the above is evidence of what happens when you leave a tween girl on a boat with a camera, while you are off exploring new worlds. Do I have a future photographer on my hands - or a future model?? You decide....while you enjoy Kati's self portraits.

What are you looking at???

This is what we did to Tayler's hair last night. It, of course, is just temporary. It will only last about 2 weeks. She seems to think it looks better than her natural hair color. Me - not so much. I like it for a cute temporary summer thing - but permanent - no way!!

Oh...and look closely.....this is what a teenager looks like at 7 in the morning!!

Kaylin today - 2006.
Well, this coming week my beautiful step-daughter Kaylin will turn 6. Her birthday is on Wednesday the 19th. It's hard to believe she is almost 6. I remember vividly the day she was born. I was in Oklahoma, and Bryan was here in Dallas. We were on the phone several times during the day as he passed along the news. It was a very....interesting experience. I knew there was a child being born that I would love like my own for the rest of my life, that was a part of the man that I loved....yet I wasn't a part of it. It's an indescribable experience. And now she is on the verge of being 6 - of starting the 1st grade - and that little baby is gone. Where does the time go?

Our First

We decided to create this blog to update everyone on the crazy life that is the Klein household.

With a teen-aged girl, a tween girl, a 6 year old girl, a pilot, a cat, a new puppy, and about 200 gallons worth of fish - things can get interesting. And that doesn't even cover me!!

We will try to keep you updated on the interesting things that happen in our lives, including pictures.
