Halftime Video

Here is the halftime performance. Pay special attention at about the 1:13 mark, where our Kati is announced as Strutter of the Week!!

Division 1 - 4A REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!

So this past Saturday night was our latest playoff game. We played El Paso Chapin in Midland, Texas. 2 other Strutter moms, Taylor and I followed the buses to Midland, which is about 6 hours West. We left at 9:30am, for a 7:30pm game, and then after the game drove straight back. We got back to the school around 5am Sunday morning. It was a long 20ish hours!! But we had a blast! I got to see my Uncle David when we stopped in Abilene for lunch, and I got to see Pam and John when we got to Midland!! It had been awhile since we'd seen each other, so it was nice to catch up.

The game was awesome - and we won 61-21!! That made us the Division 1 -4A Regional Champions!! The guys played a perfect game!

And....most important and special of all.....Kati was announced at halftime as Strutter of the Week!!! We are so proud of her!!

Keep on moving on...

The last few weeks have been crazy! After the big win against our crosstown rivals Guyer - we moved on to the playoffs. Our first playoff game was Bi-District against Saginaw - and we easily won that game 48-7. Our second game was Area game against Ft. Worth Arlington Heights. Again, an easy win at 38-14. After halftime, we were up 31-0, so Coach Flo put in our back up players, and even some JV players in the 4th quarter!!

Our next game is the Regional game. We play El Paso Chapin this coming Saturday in Midland, Texas. When we win this week we will advance to the Semi-Finals....which is slated to be another match up between us and Guyer!! That game is said to be the biggest game in the State this season. We shall see if it happens.

Here are a few pictures from the Saginaw game. I wasn't able to get any this past week at the game, as it was raining. I'm hoping to get some good ones this week. 2 of my friends (and fellow Strutter moms) and I are road-tripping to Midland for the game. We will leave Saturday morning at 9:30am (following the buses) for the 7:30pm game. We will head home right after the game, scheduled to get back home at 5:00am Sunday morning. It should be an awesome game - and an even better trip with friends!!

This is the Strutters Halftime Show

Crosstown Showdown

This past Thursday night was our biggest game of the season, the Crosstown Showdown. We played Guyer High School, which is also in the Denton school district. They are a great team, but not as good as ours. :) They are #2 ranked in 4a in North Texas, and were undefeated this year. This game was going to be so big that they changed the night of the game, so it could be broadcast live on FoxSports. The game lived up to it's hype! The stadium (holds 12,000) was as crowded as it's ever been for a high school game, and it was packed. It's really hard to describe the feeling that night, but it was definitely electric. All in all it was a great game!! We pulled out an awesome win with a final score of 50-29!! We are now tied with Guyer as the #1 team in our district. We move onto the playoffs starting next week! Several area sports writers are predicting that we will be matched up against Guyer again in 4 weeks for the State Semi-Final game. We shall see!

Also this week was the Senior Pep Rally. The senior parents of football, cheer, drill team and band got together to dance for the pep rally, and surprise their kids. Tayler was supposed to be "helping" put this together, but the other girls flaked out, so she ended up pretty much doing it all alone. She put together the music, she choreographed the dance, and spent 2 hours a night for 2 weeks teaching it to the parents. She did an amazing job!!

There were tons of parents

This is Asa and his mom Denise, who danced for the pep rally wearing Asa's jersey! (and also Sweetness in the hat)

Before the big game, we had a tailgating party! Mrs. Baird's had a "truck" come out to cook hamburgers and hot dogs. I was trying to picture a bread truck that was able to cook. When Mom, Dad and I got there, this is what we saw....

This is the front half...the black part is a gigantic smoker, the screen you see was playing music videos

This is the back half, where you can see the guys cooking over the open grill

These are pictures from the game...

I have photographic proof that Asa (#40) is ALWAYS the first player to run through and break the banner!
