Chris' 36th birthday

Bryan's brother Chris turned 36 on March 21st (man he's old!). He had a birthday dinner at Benihana's. Here are some pictures of his night.

Personal space?

What's that? Harley has no clue what "personal space" is. He just lays exactly where he wants. Talk about spoiled!

Who needs bottled water?

Bryan installed a Reverse Osmosis Water Filter system in our garage. It's to make water for the new Reef tank, but it also makes great drinking water. I'm not sure I've ever seen such clear water.

Hawk?

Bryan was out in the backyard last week and spotted this bird in the tree behind our house. We think it's a hawk. This is the closest picture he could get.

Bradford Pear Trees - 1 week later

How our trees have changed in just 1 week. They are far prettier this week. There are more flower blooms - and more leaves. Here are a few pictures of them today.

(I know this is real exciting stuff - but I'm enjoying my new camera)

Bradford Pear Trees

More random photos. I decided to go out and take some pictures of our Bradford Pear Trees. They have their spring blooms on them - well a few at least.

Snow Storm 03-06-08

Here are some random shots taken on Thursday. We had about 6-7" of snow fall that afternoon. We got quite a bit of ice too. It was beautiful outside. Harley loved playing in it - Hagen didn't want anything to do with it.

I was in shorts yesterday...

And tonight...this.

Kati and Cross Country

Kati just finished up her 4th, and final, Cross Country track meet. The runs were 1.5 miles. She did great! Below are her results:

In each meet - there were approx. 40 girls. The final meet tonight was an all district - so there were about 70 girls total.

1st week - 19th out of 40
2nd week - 12th out of 40
3rd week - 3rd out of 40
4th week - 3rd out of 70

She did so great - we are very proud of her!!! Next up is Track and Field. Stay tuned to see how well she does with that!

Our excitement last night...

There was a fire right behind our house last night!! The field between our house and 380 caught on fire. It was very scary. The 3 of us were sitting on the couch going over Kati’s high school course selection, and I looked out back and saw the flames! We all ran out and then Bryan took off down the street telling the neighbors. Kati and I had the hose over the fence spraying the ground right behind our house!! It took over 10 minutes for the fire trucks to get there (damn country!) – but they brought several! My friend Wendy and 2 other ladies were leaving Providence when they saw it – and they took off for our house. The 3 of them didn’t knock, just came running through our house into the back yard, they wanted to make sure we were ok. It was funny, they all came out screaming..Phyllis…Bryan….Oh my God! Wendy was on the phone with 911 asking what was taking so long. Kati also had 2 friends who couldn’t get a hold of her (her phone was surgically removed and left inside the house) – so they all had their moms drive them over to check on her. It got pretty close – it hit the tree line behind our house. Which right behind our fence is that dry creek bed – and then the trees – and then the field. So it was pretty close! It was wild – watching the fire move so quickly – and the wind wasn’t helping. We could tell when it gusted – the flames got bigger and moved faster. Luckily it was put out before it reached anyone’s fence, so no property damage.

And this is what it looks like today...

ChChChanges....

There are always changes at our house! The entertainment center/fish tank stand that Bryan and I built a few years ago - is now gone. We sold all of our Cichlids back to DNA and sold the entire tank/stand setup. It was picked up this past weekend, so you can imagine how empty our living room looked.

So of course, we had to get a new entertainment center. Yesterday we found an armoire that I fell in love with!! It looks great in our living room - but we now have to work on the area around it. I need more "stuff" to help the wall not look so empty.

The new tank (135 gallon saltwater reef tank) is coming along nicely. The stand is built and Bryan and I will stain it soon. Then it will be ready to move into the house. We are getting close!
